Reasi Police produces 316 charge-sheets against 335 in 60 days

REASI, Dec 15: During the slight relief in second COVID-19 wave, while keeping COVID Appropriate Behavior enforced, Reasi Police geared up its teams on crime investigation front and produced record ever highest 316 chargesheets against 335 accused in short span of eight weeks, in courts of law in the month of October and November this year.
Sub-Division Reasi concluded investigations in 123 cases and produced charge-sheets against accused persons in the Courts of Reasi.
Investigation of 76 cases of Sub-Division Katra was concluded and produced in the court of law during the same period.
Sub-Division Mahore produced 79 final reports in court of law after concluding the investigation.
Whereas chargesheets in 38 cases were produced in the courts of law by Sub-Division Arnas having lone police station. Total 316 criminal cases have been concluded on merit.
Among them 32 cases were of heinous offenses and required meticulous investigation with forensic expert opinions to prove allegations beyond any doubt. It includes 1 murder case, 6 Attempt to murder, 21cases under NDPS Act, 3 cases of rape and 1 militancy related case which were finalized and submitted before Courts for judicial determination.
Investigation in 49 cases which were long pending far a period of more than two years were also concluded and produced in respective courts during this drive.
Reasi Police completed investigations in many other cases and finished desk work of feeding in CCTNS portal and kept ready to be physically produced before the court of law.
SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh conveyed that prevention and detection of crime is the main duty of Police and it can be possible only with free and fair investigation of the cases so that accused can be convicted & victims get the due justice.
Singh further conveyed that Reasi Police is putting all out efforts in disposal of investigation of crime, arrest of accused and progress under this special drive this year. He further appreciated the efforts of his team for concluding ever highest number of criminal cases in a short span of just 60 days which is a record of sort of district Reasi.
