JKBOPEE de-reserves seats meant for weaker sections of society, says IGM vice-prez | ‘Counseling notice issued day after the process was over’ | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 15: International Gujjar Maha Sabha (IGMS) on Wednesday castigated Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) for “de-reserving” the slots meant for the candidates from socially and economically weaker section of the society. Talking to Early Times, vice-president of IGM, Chaudary Rashid Azam Inqlabi said, “The BOPEE has played a negative role by issuing the counseling notice on December 15, a day after the counseling was held. The board has done it arbitrarily and illegally to deprive the candidates from the socially and economically weaker section of candidates. The counseling notice was published the next day in the newspapers.” “The JKBOPEE arbitrarily de-reserved all the slots meant for candidates. The notification has been deliberately published one day late and it’s a glaring mistake. It reflects the arbitrary attitude of the JKBOPEE. The board has put the career of poor students at stake,” he said. Inqalabi said, “The BOPEE had last year also de-reserved about more than hundred slots meant for candidates from weaker sections of the society.” He urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and direct the J&KBOPEE to work as per law of the land, so that justice is done with the candidates of weaker sections of the society. |
