CBK files charge-sheet against 3 fraudsters

SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet in the court of Judge Small Causes Srinagar against three fraudsters for luring the people on the pretext of providing government jobs.
A CBK spokesman said CID headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir had received a communication from Chairman State Bank of India regarding the three accused persons who were involved in providing verification and certificates of non involvement in subversive activities in favour of the candidates applying for the job.
The accused were identified as Shahnawaz Shareef Bhat, Shabir Hussain and Tayeeb Yaseen Ahangar. However verification rolls in respect of these individuals were not found appended with the communication and the matter was accordingly taken up with the concerned bank authorities.
CBK said it was informed that the letter purported to have been sent by the chairman SBI is forged and fabricated and has not been issued by the State Bank of India. The said communication has dishonestly and fraudulently been prepared after resorting to forgery to deceive the candidates.
Based on above communications Case FIR No. 47/2016 was registered in P/S CBK and investigations set into motion. During the course of the investigation it was established that an amount of Rs 4 lacs were collected by the accused on the pretext of providing a government jobs to the candidates in the State Bank of India, however instead of providing the job the money was swindled off by the accused persons.
From the facts enumerated during the course of investigation it has been established that the accused persons namely Shabir Ahmad Sheikh of Bemina, Srinagar, Mohd. Sultan Ganie alias Prof Mohd. Sultan Ganie of Bandipora have dishonestly, fraudulently and after hatching a criminal conspiracy with each other and with the aid and abetment of one Bashir Ahmad Shah and Gowhar Nazir Rather cheated one Mohammad Yaseen of Srinagar and fraudulently collected an amount of Rs 4 lacs from him.
They also attempted to cheat two more candidates identified as Shabir Hussain Mir of Bemina Srinagar and Shahnawaz Sharif Bhat of Gazargund Budgam, the CBK added.
