JAMMU, Dec 15: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu takes colossal honour in sharing that it has been recently awarded with State level SDG HERO 2021 for J&K state in the omnibus event of Global Sustainability Awards-2021 for its immense contributions and relentless efforts in implementing Sustainable Development Goals widely. Over 150 schools were part of this competition prevailing from 4 continents and 9 different countries such as Croatia, Canada, Argentina Honduras, India, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, UAE and UK. The nominations were entirely merit based categorized into two rounds on which schools were evaluated. Round 1 consisted of Online Questionnaire having 44 responses to submit and Round 2 was based on Presentation & validation respectively. Global Sustainability Awards-2021 took place at Gurgaon and was organized by esteemed organizations of Earth Day Network in collaboration with, SDG Choupal and ARCedtech in collaboration. The event took place in the presence of illustrious dignitaries viz., Prabhjot Sodhi (Senior Program Director , Centre for Environment Education, Ex-Head UNDP for Circular Economy), Pradeep Chaturvedi (Vice President, World Environment Foundation & Institute of Directors), Rakesh khatri (IUCN Member , also called THE NEST MAN of India), Douglas Ragan (Programme Management Officer, UN Habitat, Kenya), Dr. Vibha Dhawan (Director General TERI), Karuna Singh (Regional Director Asia, Earth Day Network) and Richa Jain Kalra (Media Personality & SDG Ambassador) respectively. Harsha Mattu, HOD SST and Incharge SDG Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu received the award. |
