GDC Darhal organizes cleanliness drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Dec 15: As part of the series of programmes organized to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, a cleanliness drive under the project Clean India was organized by NSS unit of Govt Degree College (GDC) Darhal. NSS volunteers of the college collected all the litter from the lanes of Darhal Town and then cleaned the adjoining area. Principal of the college, Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia appreciated the role of NSS volunteers of the college in their large scale participation in the cleanliness drive organized as a part of Clean India Programme. He said that the need of the hour is wholehearted participation from all the citizens of India to make the country clean and green. He said that ‘Clean India Programme’ is to create awareness, mobilize people and ensure their involvement in cleaning waste, mainly single use plastic waste throughout the country. Dr Ather Aziz Raina NSS Programme Officer of the college told that 100 NSS volunteers of the college from Sem-I, Sem-III and Sem-V are taking part in this cleanliness drive. Senior Faculty member of the college Dr Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi also spoke on this occasion. He said that NSS volunteers of the college are doing a tremendous job under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer of the college. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Imtiaz Hussain Shah appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers of the college. He said that newly established NSS Unit is leaving no stone unturned to perform all the NSS activities. The cleanliness drive was headed by NSS Group leaders Sajjad Ahmed and Sobia. Others present on the occasion were Dr Riaz, Dr Mukhtiar, Dr Javaid, Maawish, Farzana, Monica, Abdul Qayoom, Avez, Safeer, Saddam and Zameel. |
