| GDC Kalakote conducts cleanliness of hot water bodies in Tattapani | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
KALAKOTE, Dec 15: NSS unit of GDC Kalakote in collaboration with Department of Environmental Sciences and EBSB to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav started 7-days long special winter camp for NSS volunteers of the college under the patronage of Principal GDC Kalakote, Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta.
The third day of the special camp began with NSS song followed by National Anthem. Afterwards the NSS volunteers of the college visited the hot water body in Tattapani where they held a clean-up drive by removing the floating polythene and cleaning it.
NSS Volunteers created awareness on the spread of diseases, importance of clean environment and judicious use of groundwater. The volunteers also educated the locals to discourage the practice of open dumping and attempted to create awareness on cleanliness and hygiene.
Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta congratulated the NSS volunteers for the wonderful performance in the camp and for doing such a commendable job by saving and cleaning the water resources.
Programme Officer, Priyanka Kumari also appreciated the efforts of volunteers in sensitizing the society.
