Private schools demand intervention of government for reforms in education sector | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 16: Private schools of J&K organized an emergency meeting under Ajay Gupta, General Secretary JKPSA under the President-ship of Kamal Gupta. Ajay highlighted the agenda of meeting which included arbitrary orders issued for the fixation & regulation of fee of private schools by the FFRC, resolution of 50 percent fee reduction by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), exploitation of private schools owners due to the number of bottlenecks created by the Education department for affiliation / recognition, delay in reopening of the schools for physical classes in the UT. Members from different areas while speaking said that online mode of education is nothing but has now become a profit generating source of big IT companies. Students are the worst sufferer as online education cannot evolve a concept of team spirit, co-operation, coordination and work culture among them. They had shown dismay for the resolution which was earlier passed by JMC for the private schools functioning in the municipal limit of Jammu without knowing their sufferings. Kamal demanded immediate review/withdrawal of all orders which are issued by FFRC on hit and trial policy for the private schools. He also appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to constitute a monitoring cell to check the discrepancies which FFRC is regularly committing while fixing the fee of private schools of JKUT.
