Omar dares Central government to start hearing on article 370 | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 16: Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) Vice president Omar Abdullah claimed that the central government is hesitating to start the hearing on Article 370 and 35A as they could not defend it in the court of justice. “The government cannot defend Article 370 and 35A in the court of Justice as they know these were abrogated undemocratically”, Omar said this while talking to media persons on the sidelines of the NC party workers convention held at Bandipora in North Kashmir on Thursday. “Bhartiya Janata Party knew that the special status provided to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and 35A were removed undemocratically and unlawfully”, the former Chief Minister said. He said the Central government did not want Article 370 and 35A to come for hearing in the court of Justice, and added, they knew that these laws were removed unlawfully and undemocratically and cannot defend themselves. “It is not only difficult for them to defend it but impossible too “, Omar said. He said the article 370 and 35A were not only the case of land for the people of Jammu and Kashmir but an identity and recognition. Omar said if the delimitation commission report in Jammu and Kashmir came on the basis of politics It would not be acceptable to us, Omar said. The NC Vice president said “if the delimitation commission decides the fate of the people on the basis of politics, we are not going to accept it” and added “It should not be in favor of a particular party in any way”. |
