GCET Jammu conducts door to door cleanliness campaign | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 16: The NSS unit of Govt. College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu today conducted door to door campaign in the adopted village of Amb and Chak in tehsil Bhalwal as part of day two of Special Winter Camp under Clean India Campaign, an initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- Celebration of India’s 75 years of Independence. Principal of the college Dr. Sameru Sharma flagged of the volunteers from the campus towards the adopted villages with best wishes. The NSS volunteers with programme officer in their door to door campaign did awareness about COVID appropriate behaviour, cleanliness drive, awareness about non communicable diseases in these adopted villages. The NSS volunteers aware the villagers about different COVID appropriate behaviours like maintain distance greet without physical contact, wear mask and about COVID vaccines. The volunteers also distributed the masks among locals. They also aware the locals about the non-communicable diseases like cancer, dengue, diabetes, heart diseases, stress, depression etc. NSS programme office also aware the locals about healthy diet, avoiding cigarette and alcohol and also for remaining physically fit. The event was organized by NSS volunteers Mandeep Singh, Paras Gupta, Sakshi Bhat, Vijay Rathore, Pratham Choudhary, Nikansh Panotra, Sunidhi Sharma and Harserat Kour under the guidance of NSS Programme officer Dr. Raman Gupta. He congratulated all the NSS volunteers for their excellent work of awareness in this camp. The principal of the college applauded the efforts of team NSS for creating awareness of various programmes among the locals of villages which are adopted by the college. |
