| GDC Kishtwar organises program on Guidance & career counselling | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 16: Guidance and career counseling cell GDC Kishtwar organised an awareness program on Health and Safe Food, under the patronage of worthy Principal, Prof. Anirudh Sharma. The program begin with Welcome address by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Wani, in which mementoes were presented to worthy Principal, chief guest of the program and Mr. Sajad Hussain Gagroo, food safety officer Kishtwar, special guest of the event. Prof. M. M. Mattoo, convenor of the program, delivered the introductory speech in which he deliberated about the relationship of good health and safe food. He also shared a story to inspire students about the importance of healthy life. Mr. Sajjad Hussain Gagroo, Food safety Officer Kishtwar deliberated in detail about safe food, various parameters of a safe food. He highlighted issues related to misbranded items, sub standard items, and Un safe items. He discussed about prevention of food adulterations act (PFA) and food safety act (FSA). Under Food safety and standards Act (FSSA) 2006, Food safety department is running "Eat Right challenge" to aware distributers and consumers about safe and healthy food. This was followed by Q&A session in which faculty members and students of the college interacted with the FSO Kishtwar. In his concluding remarks, Worthy principal appreciated the organising committee for this program and acknowledged the active participation of students. Prof. Sharma shared his views on the increased production and consumption of organic foods. He also stressed for more such programs for mass awareness of the general public for the greater good of the society. The program culminated with formal vote of thanks by Dr. Athar Hussain Gundna. |
