DIC Jammu holds awareness camps on PMEGP in R S Pura villages

JAMMU, Dec 16: To extend the benefits of self employment schemes to the youth of far flung areas of the UT of J&K, District Industries Centre, Jammu today conducted series of awareness camps on Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme here at village Malikpur and Bansultanat of Miran Sahib, RS Pura.
A team of DIC Jammu comprising Project Manager & Field Staff conducted the camps on the directions of Anoo Malhotra, Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu and guidance of Subah Mehta, General Manager, DIC Jammu.
While welcoming the Sarpanchs and participants, Project Manager Malvika Sharma, (Team Head) made them aware about various schemes being implemented by the UT and Central Governments to enable the youth to become job creators instead of job seekers.
The participants were told about various benefits / subsidies provided to unit holders after registering with the DIC.
While highlighting various schemes, Project Manager informed them that they can start their small ventures under PMEGP Scheme in Manufacturing and services sectors.
They appealed youths to come forward to avail the credit linked subsidized loans by starting their ventures under the Manufacturing and Service Sectors wherein the loans up to Rs 10.00 lakh and up to Rs. 25.00 lacs can be availed under the services and manufacturing sectors, respectively with the margin money (subsidy) ranging from 15% to 35%.
A beneficiary under this scheme also becomes eligible for expansion of previous PMEGP unit for which he can get up to Rs. 25 lakh in Services Sector and up to Rs. 1.00 Crore in Manufacturing Sector after adjustment of Margin Money claim (subsidy) and repayment of first loan within stipulated time.
She further highlighted the objectives of the scheme, eligibility criteria in detail. It was informed that the applicant / candidate shall be minimum 18 years age and 8th standard pass and the minimum documents required are Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, 2 Passport Size Photographs, Detailed Project Report (DPR), Highest Education Qualification Certificate, Rural Area Certificate - attested by Sarpanch (in case of Rural Area Units) and Category Certificate-SC/ST/OBC/ Handicapped / Ex-serviceman (if any).
