SRINAGAR, Dec 16: Famous Ski resort of Gulmarg, Sonamarg and at Zojila pass on Ladakh highway has received a fresh snowfall, a Meteorological Department office said.
They said, the ski resort Gulmarg, Affarwath and Kongdoori are experiencing light snowfall much to the delight of the tourists staying there.
Reports of light snowfall also came from Kangan, Sonamarg, Captain more and Zojila pass. It was also snowing at Gurez in north Kashmir, they said.
A MeT office said, currently the weather is generally cloudy and at most places of Kashmir it was lightly snowing at Gurez, Sonmarg, Zojia-Drass axis.
They said the snowfall may continue till late tonight and likely to improve thereafter. The temperature is likely to drop further in Ladakh and Kashmir valley, the MeT office said.
Widespread moderate to heavy snowfall is most likely to occur at some places from December 23 to 25, the MET office said and added there is a chance to have white Christmas in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on December 25. |
