Tajinder Singh said as per order there is no permit required for plying the Electric auto or E-rickshaws on the road but the concerned department is not allowed and has not notified the norms to ply E-vehicles on the roads in Jammu and Kashmir UT since 2019. Tajinder said Jammu and Kashmir UT administration must implement the guidelines for the persons who are interested to use or buy new electric Vehicles and must provide free permits and interest-free loans or subsidies to those commercial vehicles who intend to switch to E-vehicles from old old petrol and Diesel Vehicles. "We have to protect our Jammu and Kashmir to become worst next in terms of Air Quality Index (AQI) and the Journey shall not begin without the willingness and engagement of local authorities. We must have policy and action plan for adaption of Electric Vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir UT, in minimizing pollution levels and environment friendly, "Tajinder Singh added. |
