| Karnataka Cong MLA's remarks against women highly shameful: Rekha | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 18: Secretary, J&K BJP, Rekha Mahajan, has strongly objected to and condemned the shameful, disgraceful and anti women statement by Congress MLA Ramesh Kumar from Karnataka, for saying that 'when rape is inevitable, lie down and enjoy it'. It is really most shameful that someone's pain, trauma, broken trust becomes a laughing matter for Karnataka's lawmakers.
Rekha Mahajan said that Priyanka Gandhi Wadhera gives slogan to women to fight (ladki hoon lad sakti hoon) and a leader of her own party Ramesh Kumar asks to enjoy the rape. This reflects contradiction in real acts and preaching of the Congress.
She further said that things cannot change if people with such a mindset are sitting in the assembly or Parliament.
This offensive, outrageous and disgusting alleged remark by the MLA reflects his pessimistic outlook towards women.
It is a matter of great shame for our nation where women are treated as divine souls and endless endeavours have been carried out by our government for women empowerment but the situation in the Karnataka Assembly shows a pitiable and pathetic picture.
Rekha demanded strict legal action and disqualification of the said MLA for his insensitive remarks against women, which is also against the Constitution as his comment hampers the right of women to live with dignity. |
