Minister of Railways inspects container unit near Rewari in Haryana | | | aGENCIES
NEW DELHI, Dec 19: Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways today inspected several container units near Rewari, Haryana. He was accompanied by S K Mohanty, member Operations & Business Development, Railway Board, Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, Vijay Sharma, General Manager, North Western Railway, R K Jain, Managing Director Dedicated Freight Corridor Ltd and senior officers of Railway Board, NR and NWR. The minister visited Kalyani Cast Tech. which is a container building unit. He was briefed about the special small size containers being built here. These cube containers have a carrying capacity of 32 tons and can be opened from both ends for convenient loading. These will be useful for small and medium scale entrepreneurs to send their goods through Railways. The Minister took keen interest in the manufacturing process. The minister then visited the container siding at Kathuwas in Alwar district and observed the process of container loading. Here different types and sizes of containers were being loaded by the lifting crane on to freight trains. Until now double stack container were being transported from Khatuwas container siding, from today loading of triple stack container has also been initiated. The minister said that it is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that every section should get the benefits of all the schemes of the government. The concept of ‘Gati Shakti’ put forward by the PM has led us towards a new direction in which we are working to transport more and more goods through multimodal system of Rail, Road and Waterways in a systematic and faster pace. At New Dabla he interacted with the public representatives. Later he inspected the New Dabla to Rewari section through window trailing taking stock of the passenger amenities present on the stations falling on the route.
