Arrogant Babus to dub power employees as ‘anti-nationals’ to hide their own blunders
System collapses, helpless admin seeks Army’s help to operate grid stations
12/19/2021 11:50:23 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 19: As talks with the agitating power employees failed, the administration has called the Army to restore power supply in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Instead of solving the issue amicably, the “arrogant” administration has decided to treat the power employees with oppressive measures.
Highly placed sources said that most of the leaders of the J&K Power Employees Coordination Committee have gone underground fearing arrest by the police.
Earlier while addressing the strike employees, convenor of the Coordination Committee Sachin Tickoo revealed that before initiating dialogue with the agitating employees, authorities have deputed some senior police at his residence to intimidate him and other leaders.
Sources in the administration said that decision to take help of the Army was taken due to direction from a coterie of Babus which is treating all residents of Jammu and Kashmir as ‘anti-national’ be it nationalist people of Jammu or residents of other parts of the country.
Instead of realizing their own mistake of taking employees’ issues casually, the coterie of Babus is now trying to dub agitating employees as anti-national to get a license of treating them with oppressive measures.
Meanwhile, the administration of the Jammu division on late Sunday evening requested the Army to assist the government in the restoration of electricity after talks failed.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu has shot a letter to General Officer in Commanding (GoC) of Yol based 9 Corps, which is responsible for Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts and GOC of Nagrota based 16 Corps, which have jurisdiction over rest seven districts of Jammu division including Chenab Belt and Pir Panchal region, to assist the administration to man electric installations/supplies in Jammu division.
“It is brought to your notice that due to a strike by Electricity Department personnel in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, essential services have been severely affected in the Jammu region. We would like to hereby requisition the Indian army to assist in restoration of said essential services by provisioning manpower to man critical electricity stations and water supply sources,” the letter by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer reads.
