Jagti Tenement Committee holds sit-in, demands hike in monthly cash relief

JAMMU, Dec 19: The Jagti Tenement committee/ Soan Kashmir front j&k has been protesting for 443 days. On Sunday, the organization held a strong protest sit-in at jagti township Nagrota Jammu under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC. After the protest sit-in, a rally was held from Lane No. 7 to police post-Jagti township. Addressing the protesters Pandita said that our protest sit-in will continue till the order of increasing the monthly cash of relief holders is announced. Pandita said that we have been protesting for the last 443 days as the relief of Kashmiri migrant relief holders is very low in this era of inflation. The JTCdemands to increase the monthly cash relief of migrant relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month as soon as possible. Pandita said we the Kashmiri migrants who have been living in exile for the last 32 years. we are on protest sit-in from 2-10-2020. Our protest/ agitation sit-in will continue as long as our demands are met. Pandita said we are living in sub-human conditions and unemployment in our community is at its peak. Thousands of youth have become overaged and Govt. has failed to address their problems. Pandita urged the Government a new package of 20,000 jobs for unemployed youth to be given. Pandita said that firstly one job to be given those homes( families) where no educated youth of the family has yet got a government job till date and also to launch special police recruitment rallies on spot in the Jagti township and other migrant camps for 5000 Migrant youth. Pandita said 50,000 families are ready to return back to Kashmir valley for which three satellite townships should be built in Kashmir valley near Baramulla, Srinagar, and Anantnag. 32 years property loss, Balanced /pending Ex-gratia of gutted houses Looted, damaged properties to be given @ one crore to each and every Landlord (kissan). compensation for over-aged youth of KP's. Illegal occupation of Land/properties and religious places should be removed immediately. Political and Minority status should be given to Kashmiri Pandits. He also appealed the LG admin to resolve the issue of PDD employees so that electricity supply can be restored at earliest.
