Congress criticizes government for power black-out, supports power employees | | | Early Times Report JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Dec 19: Congress has supported the issues raised by the power employees and termed the privatization of power against the interests of consumers' especially poor public and demanded its roll back. JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma criticized the government over the total black out in most parts of Jammu & Kashmir, causing great hardships to the general public and the ailing persons besides badly disrupting the water supply. He said that the government is adamant to go ahead with its ill designed, anti-consumers and anti employees' moves resulting into avoidable deadlock in talks, forcing employees to go on strike. The party said that government should shun its anti people and anti employees attitude and revisit its pro corporate and pro rich decisions and hold meaningful dialogue with the employees unions immediately. The general public is suffering due to the power blackout in the harsh winters and it is the responsibility of the government to provide regular power and water supply to the general public. The issues raised by the employees mostly pertain to the interests of the common people and poor consumers and all right thinking people and organizations should support them, the chief spokesperson said. |
