Jammu, Dec 25: Power shutdown notifications have become a routine in Jammu Division. These notifications are issued in summer as well as winter.
In summers people have to face the sweltering heat without fans and other electronic gadgets, while in winter they have to face the chill as the gadgets don’t work without power. Despite facing all the hardships people are made to pay the electricity bills through their nose.
“Tall promises of providing electricity 24x7 are just mere propaganda and nothing else. The helmsmen are not interested in providing the facilities to people. In winter everyone needs hot water and other gadgets to remain comfortable but in wake of power shutdowns lives of people have become miserable,” said a resident.
Meanwhile, Chief Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL, Jammu on Saturday informed that the power supply to the areas being fed from Gris Stations- Gangyal, Sidhra-I and II, Janipur, Jhajjarkotli, BB-I, BB-II, Akhnoor and Kalakote shall remain affected on December 26 from 7 am to 3 pm. |
