| Bharat Priye inaugurates Dr Basheshar Dutt Sharma Memorial Cricket tournament | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 27: The first match of Dr. Basheshar Dutt Sharma Memorial Cricket Tournament was played at High Secondary School, Pargwal in Chhamb assembly constituency. Congress leader Bharat Priye was present as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the tournament.
The first match of the tournament was played between Pargwal A and Pargwal B. Electing to bat first Pargwal A scored 59 runs in 12 overs while Pargwal B’s team chased down the target with four overs remaining. Ajay Kumar was adjudged man of the match for Pargwal B for scoring 20 runs and taking two catches.
Priye said that he has organized this competition in the name of his late father Dr Basheshar Dutt Sharma.
He is feeling very happy that the youth of the area have shown a lot of interest in this tournament. More than 15 teams are participating in it. Their only motive behind organizing this tournament is to enhance the sports talent of the youth.
The youth of the border areas are very strong. The youth here have the ability to win even in difficult situations. |
