KISHTWAR, Dec 27: The tall claims of the successive governments with regard to uplifting the education standard in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have remained confined to papers only as out of 2853 sanctioned posts in the Education Department, 1091 are vacant in Kishtwar District. As per the details available with Early Times, among the 1091 posts vacant in Kishtwar District include the post of Chief Education Officer and Deputy Chief Education Officer Kishtwar. Out of 22 posts of Principal, 8 posts are vacant, out of sanctioned 47 Headmaster posts, 30 are vacant, out of 289 sanctioned posts of lecturers, 140 are vacant, 369 posts of Master including under General category (112), Master RAMSA (65) & Master SSA (192) are vacant and due to all this the whole education system in Kishtwar District has virtually collapsed, particularly in rural areas where student/teacher ratio is very high. Out of 1045 sanctioned posts of teachers, 148 posts are lying vacant. As far as non-teaching staff is concerned, out of 318 sanctioned posts of class IV, 198 posts are lying vacant, 48 posts of laboratory Assistant, 25 posts of Laboratory Bearer, 18 posts of Library Assistant, 12 posts of Junior Assistant, 10 posts of Librarian out of 12 sanctioned posts, 24 posts of Senior Assistant, 26 posts of Account Assistant out of 27 sanctioned posts, 6 posts of accounts, 2 posts of Statistical Assistant are lying vacant. It was not only posts at the level of teaching and non teaching staff lying vacant in Kishtwar District, but 2 posts of ZEPO, 3 posts of HODs DIET, 1 post of AD Planning, 1 post of SO Planning are also lying vacant. When contacted, senior officials informed that they are hopeful that the government will consider the fulfilling of all the vacant posts, at least the posts of high rank officials. |
