| GDC Vijaypur organizes webinar on "Cyber Security" | | | Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Dec 27: Cyber Jagrookta (Awareness) Committee of GDC Vijaypur organized a webinar on "Cyber Security" to aware students about various cyber-crimes and solutions to protect our systems from such cyber-attacks.
The webinar commenced with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Cyber Jagrookta Committee) and she said that the massive growth of the internet and our dependence on it is exposing us to newer and lethal cyber threats. Everyone who is connected to the Internet needs cyber security. This is because most cyber-attacks are automated and aim to exploit common vulnerabilities rather than specific websites or organizations. She further said that the aim of organizing this webinar is to discuss potential threats that our systems are exposed to and some of the simple ways to prevent such lethal attacks.
Prof. Bharat (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, GDC Kathua) was the resource person and he introduced the very prevalent theme in our modern day to day life i.e. "Cyber-crime" in context to the recent technological advancements and emphasized over necessity of basic knowledge and awareness to the internet users where confidential information is being accessed over the internet.
Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan addressed the gathering and said that Cyber Security is a global threat as well as an opportunity and our objective is to achieve genuine prosperity and progress for our nation as well as globally.
She also congratulated the convener, co-convener and the organizing team for organising the webinar. Formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch (co-convener, Cyber Jagrookta committee). The webinar was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Cyber Jagrookta Committee). |
