| Other Backward Classes demand 27 percent reservation | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 27: A joint peace tricolor rally was organized by the members of Other Backward Classes (OBC) here today at Mishriwala. The rally was taken out from Janipur High Court Road to Akhnoor.
It was the third day that the OBC members were asking for 27 percent reservation in Jammu & Kashmir as per the Mandal Commission recommendations.
Among others the rally was participated by Bansi Lal Chaudhary, Kasturi Lal Basutra, R L Chargotra, Abdul Ghani, Aftab Faqir, Kuldip Raj Chalotra, Raj Kumar and Rajendra Kumar. The OBC members also submitted the memorandum to Tehsildar Akhnoor and Naib Tehsildar Gharota to implement 27 percent reservation. Children and women came to the forefront and warmly welcomed the leadership.
During the rally it was projected during the rally that after abrogation of Article 370 when all the central laws were to be implemented in UT without any discrimination, the law on reservation to OBCs has still not been implemented in J&K UT even after more than 2 years of abrogation of Article 370. |
