Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 30: At the fag end of the year 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has organised first-ever real-estate summit at Jammu to give a false impression that the administration is very serious to solve problems of the people.
The much publicised summit is not going to address genuine grievances of the residents of Jammu because the event was nothing but a cosmetic exercise to hoodwink the nationalist people of this region.
For the residents of Jammu, the year 2021 will remember as a period of despair and hopelessness because during this year the genuine voice of the residents of Jammu was not heard.
Rather, genuine and deserving issues of the Jammu region by stifled and gagged by the bureaucratic rulers by brazenly abusing the state apparatus through oppressive means.
As bureaucrats, as part of their strategy, have demonized and sidelined peoples’ representatives, issues of the Jammu region remained unheard. Those who tried to raise some issues of the Jammu region were bullied by the administration.
Jammu region witnessed unprecedented deaths during the second wave of Coronavirus but those who dared to highlight loopholes in the health sector were harassed by the authorities in one way or another.
The pro-Jammu media, which highlighted peoples’ woes during the peak of the second wave of Coronavirus, was bullied by those at the helm of the affairs.
It was all due to prevailing anger among voiceless Jammu, that the bandh call given by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) on September 22 evoked unprecedented support.
The September 22 bandh was historic in the sense that all social and traders organizations supported this bandh to echo Jammu’s wishes and aspirations.
Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHBA), Jammu had also supported the bandh call. The Bar Association had stated the bandh call has been given by CCI and other business and trade organizations to draw the UT administration’s attention towards the hardships being faced by them on account of some faulty policies.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha had also extended its support to the bandh call. The Sabha which met here, today under the leadership of its president Romesh Chander Gupta said that Sabha will show full solidarity and support to bandh call given by Jammu CCI.
Jammu Kashmir Forest Contractors and Forest Base Industries Association had also fully supported the Jammu bandh.
Congress, National Conference, PDP, Apni Party, and other political groups had supported the bandh.
