Sikh organizations demand immediate redressal of issues confronting them | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 2: An emergency meeting of various Sikh organizations was held under the chairmanship of S. Mohinder Singh Chief Organizer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa society J&K and ex-member DGPC Jammu. In the meeting various issues confronting the Sikh community are discussed, the participants showed their anguish that the Sikh community in Jammu Kashmir UT is being ignored as well as discriminated since long The Sikh organizations made an appeal to Prime Minister of India Narinder Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to appoint an educated Sikh as advisor to LG. A Sikh must be in administrative ambit to represent the Sikh community. Sikhs must be given representation in the Services Selection Board and Public Service Commission as a member. The Sikh organizations also appeal to fix quota for Sikh minority community for recruiting Sikh educated unemployed youths like other reserved categories. The Sikh organizations feel that due to lack of proper and adequate information the Punjabi language has not been included in official language like Dogri and Urdu in Jammu Kashmir. The Sikh organizations also demanded that High Court judge be appointed from Sikh community that in 74 years after independence no Sikh has been appointed as High court judge in Jammu Kashmir. |
