JTC-SKF hold seminar, protest sit-in

JAMMU, Jan 2: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K organized a seminar and after the seminar a protest sit-in was held under the chairmanship of its president Shadi Lal Pandita. The seminar was attended by a large number of people. Addressing the members, Pandita said that the JTC and SKF have been on protest for the last 457 in support of their demands but the BJP Govt is not ready to relent. He said all Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) need to come together and fight for their rights, adding that KPs have been forced to live in exile for 32 years.
Pandita said that several promises were made by the BJP before coming to power, but after the elections when the BJP Govt was formed in the state and center, the BJP Govt only inflicted pain on Kashmiri Pandits.
He demanded to increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 package of 20,000 posts to be announced for migrant youth. Compensation of land, looted properties, gutted and damaged houses to be given. Compensation and interest free bank loans to be given over aged youth.
Five Assembly seats, three parliament and one each seat to be reserved in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha for Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Sikh communities. Illegal occupation of migrants land properties and religious places should be removed. For return and rehabilitation three satellite townships should be built in Kashmir valley near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag.
The members who participated in the seminar cum conference and protest sit-in included M L Razdan, Kashi Nath Bhat, Ravinder Koul, Charanjeet Singh, Rakesh Ambardar, Rakesh Tickoo and others.
