| Bakaya seeks self-attestation of life certificates for KP migrants | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 2: Apni Party State General Secretary Vijay Bakaya has expressed concern that the Relief Organization (RO) has asked Kashmiri Pandit migrants for certificates of being alive to be attested by Gazetted officers. In his statement, Bakaya has termed the directions as unnecessary harassment to the migrant KPs.
“The norm of self-certification should be accepted by the Relief Organization so that the poor Kashmiri Migrants do not suffer unnecessarily,” he said.
He said that “This should be the requirement for such certificates. It is not convenient for migrants to get attestation done from gazetted officers.”
Bakaya exhorted the authorities to put in place a simple and user-friendly system to determine whether all benefit holders in the migrant quota are genuine.
He reiterated that self certification is the most reasonable method. |
