| DF-SS pays tributes to Vaishno Devi stampede victims | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 2: The workers of Dogra Front (DF) & Shiv Sena (SS) under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta paid tributes to the people who lost their lives on the New Year’s eve at Maa Vaishno Devi Bhawan.
The party president lit candles as a mark of tribute for the people who lost their lives at the Bhawan.
Ashok Gupta while expressing grief over the loss of lives in the stampede extended his condolences to the bereaved families. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Gupta welcomed the three-member high-level probe ordered by the government in the stampede that took place at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan. He said that it will help devise methods to rectify flaws in the system.
It is an unfortunate incident that took place on the first day of 2022. It is even more unfortunate because the stampede has taken place at such a place whose example we cite, he added.
He further stated that due to the efforts of the Governor and CEO Ramesh Kumar the track has been widened almost to the 90% at the bhawan and the area where the stampede happened was the only 10% area left for widening.
At last, he said that an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the next of kin of those who died and Rs 2 lakh for the injured is a welcome step. |
