Use money to combat COVID, don't waste it on Surya Namaskar event: Tony | | | Early Times Report SUCHETGARH, Jan 10: DDC member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony has said that people sitting at helm in Ayush Ministry have no right to drain the money and other resources on Surya Namaskar event on Makar Sankranti while the country is facing the worst ever crisis of third wave of the pandemic with cases rising exponentially and death rate increasing gradually. In a statement, Tony said that Ayush Ministry or for that matter no other person in the government has a right to drain the resources and public exchequer in such events of least priority when on the other hand the people of the country are dying for want of facilities and proper care as corona virus cases are surging gigantically. Tony said that every penny which the government has should be utilized to save the lives of people from the lethal COVID-19 disease as spending money on aforesaid events is irrational and indicative of bankruptcy of mind of those heading the concerned ministry. "The aforesaid event will not only drain the resources but will also give room to virus corona to spread its wings as any kind of unnecessary gathering is an open invitation to disease, death and destruction," he said. |
