GDC Kathua organizes competition on Vivekananda’s speeches

KATHUA, Jan 11: In continuation to its activities under Youth India Programme on the eve of National Youth Day, NSS unit GDC Kathua organized an online competition on the theme ‘Recitation of speeches of Swami Vivekananda ji’ and songs on the life of Aurobindo Ghosh today. More than twenty five volunteers took part in the competition.
Nitish Pansotra, Vishali Jasrotia and Abhishek Singh stood first, second and third in the competition. Volunteers recited the speeches and sang the songs about the life of Aurbindo Gosh. The event was judged by Dr. Kailash Sharma, HOD Mathematic, Dr Shamsher Singh, HOD Urdu and Prof Rajneesh from Political Science Department. Prof Ritu Raj, NSS Programme Officer, also interacted with the volunteers and provided a detailed knowledge about the life and contribution of Aurbindo Gosh. He briefed that how he played an important role in Indian Freedom struggle as a freedom fighter. On this occasion, Prof. Neha Bandral also addressed the volunteers and highlighted the contribution of Swami Vivekananda on the philosophy of education. In the concluding session, Prof. Manmohan Singh, Senior NSS Programme Officer, also enlightened the volunteers with his views. He stressed that there is need only to adopt and implement the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda in our day to day life till the goal is reached.
The whole programme was organized under the patronage of Incharge Principal, Prof Raj Kiran Sharma and NSS Programme Officers. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by senior most NSS NSS volunteer.
