CJM rejects bail of two in issuing fake forged certificates | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 11: CJM Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh has rejected the bail application of Amarjeet Singh and Pawan Preet Singh who were arrested by the Crime Branch Jammu for issuing fake and forged certificates. While rejecting the bail plea, CJM Jammu observed that the fact that incriminating material like stamps of Regional Transport Officer, GR Number of Token Tax Renewal, Registration Certificates 18 in number, 11 Driving Licenses, Police clearance certificate, two photocopies of Driving License, one PVC, paper sheet, blank Form of Agriculture Extension Officer and other materials was recovered from the house of petitioners during their house search only speaks volumes about the kind of racket that petitioners are allegedly running by virtue of which Registration Certificates, Driving Licenses and other vital documents are forged and distributed to different people. The judge observed that investigation would also show that petitioners have shown rare audacity in running aforesaid racket of such alarming proportions. The act alluded to petitioners has a deep resonance in the society and grant of bail to petitioners at this stage will surely have the propensity to dent the faith of law abiding citizens in the administration of criminal justice. This is all the more important when investigation is at initial stage and crucial aspects involved in the case are yet to be addressed by Investigating agency. It is also relevant to note that one of the offences in the case (Section 467 IPC) carries life imprisonment. With these observations the court rejected the bail plea.
