Panchayat Ghar to Sudeen Makol road stretch in shambles | Administration ‘unsure’ of jurisdiction, public in distress | | Ajay Sharma Early Times Report
SUNDERBANI, Feb 6: Instead of alleviating public problems authorities in the Sunderbani tehsil are busy passing the buck over jurisdiction of a road, connecting Panchayat Ghar with village Makol. Reports said that a road stretch from Panchayat Ghar to village Makol in Panchayat Nala is in dilapidated condition, but no body from the administration is ready to take the responsibility. “This road has been thrown to dogs. Public Welfare Department has no records for the construction of said road, while as RDD constructs drains but not road,” said a local, adding that this road caters to over 300 families. The local said that whenever they approached respective authorities, they were told that this work doesn’t come under ambit of that particular department. Talking to Early Times Superintending Engineer PWD said that he is not sure about the road and will confirm it. The Divisional Engineer was not available for comments. Locals said that they are fed up with this approach of the concerned authorities, wherein nobody is ready to take responsibility. They requested the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and instruct the concerned department to provide proper road connection to people.
