Contractors run from pillar to post for pending 10 percent CDR money | | | Ajay Sharma
Early Times Report
REASI, Feb 9: Despite completion of work of road project under Public Works Department (PWD) many contractors here are forced to run from pillar to post for release of pending 10 percent CDR amount. Surprisingly, the respective authorities are busy passing the buck. According to an aggrieved contractor, wishing anonymity, he had finished a road construction project well within stipulated time and the payment for the same has been released. “It's been more than two years now since the work of road construction project has been completed and payment has been made, but the 10 percent CDR money that the department keeps with itself has not been released yet,” said the contractor, adding that the money is kept pending with the department to cover maintenance in case needed. The contractor said that after a brief period that amount is also released. However, in Reasi, concerned administration is not releasing the pending money. “When we approach respective officer in the department, we are being told that there is a fault in treasury and officials at treasury claim that fault lies at the end of department,” said contractor,. The contractors requested the Lieutenant Governor to look into the matter and fix the responsibility. Executive Engineer Reasi Janak Raj maintained that there is some fault at treasury. The DTO Reasi said that the problem lies with the department. |
