New dawn has broken out in J&K, says Principal Secy Industries | 'Govt encouraging startups, committed to change destiny of people' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 9: Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce Ranjan Thakur on Wednesday said that new dawn has already broken out in Jammu and Kashmir and its on the way to prosperity and development. Talking to Early Times Thakur said, “In the past 70 years J&K had not received investment proposals worth Rs 15000 crore but in the past one year the Union Territory has received investment proposals worth Rs 50,000 crore. These proposals have been finalized and the land will be allotted soon to the investors to start the work on the projects.” The Principal Secretary said, “Within one year people will start feeling the difference on the ground. The new industries will create job avenues for lakhs of youth.” He said, “J&K is the top priority for the Central Government. The J&K is on a path of development and within a short span of time you will see for yourself how the UT will develop. The Centre has been giving liberal funding to J&K.” Thakur said that entrepreneurs are being encouraged and the skills of youth are being developed. “A complete roadmap has been drawn to empower the youth in J&K. This includes setting up of pharmacy, nursing schools, IITs, higher education institutions and business units. The government is encouraging startups and is committed to change the destiny of J&K people.” He said that besides setting up government industrial estates, people will be encouraged to start industries on their own land. |
