Cong holds protest against poor road condition near Peer Kho | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 11: Congress activists under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh, President Beopar Mandal & District General Secretary Congress, held a protest in Ward No 3 against the dilapidated condition of Circular Road. Addressing the protesters, Gurmeet Singh said that it was observed that the road is in a very bad condition particularly the stretch leading to Peer Kho Mandir and this pathetic state of the road is for the last 10 months. The commuters are facing great hardships while passing through the dilapidated road, he added. Singh further said that since Shivratri festival is coming after a few days and thousands of people will visit the Peer Kho temple to offer prayers. He requested the LG to instruct the concerned authorities to repair the road so that the people could heave a sigh of relief. Singh alleged that the local public representative of the BJP has never visited the area and never heard the problems of the people. Lambasting the BJP govt, he said that it has announced Jammu as Smart City but the poor condition of the roads indicate that no concrete steps have been taken by the BJP govt to make Jammu as a Smart City in a real sense. Prominent among those who were present included Block President Jammu East Anand Gandotra, Ward President Hardavinder Singh, Manohar Joshi, Vijay Kumar, Kaka Ashraf, Sharif, Anil Sharma, Tarsem Lal, Subash Mehra, Rahul, Ajay, Rajinder Misri, Mohd Iqbal besides others. |
