PDD’s apathy triggers outrage | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 11: Senior Congress leader Thakur Hoshiar Singh along with residents of Ward No 60, Paloura staged a protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD). Thakur Hoshiar Singh while interacting with the media said that PDD has given contract to LNT company for new meters and wiring set up but now a trap of wires have grown on poles which are carrying 11 kw HT wires. The helm of affairs is that such wires are repaired not changed which is a life threatening situation for any residents or passers bye, he added. Last year the same type of arrangement was carried by other vendor who left the work unfinished, said Singh, adding that when officials are approached about the mess they directly blame Chief Engineer PDD for all this by saying that contracts and all are done by Chief Engineer. Thakur Singh asked the PDD to urgently check the mess of wires or change the poles so that no loss of life takes place. If some untoward incident takes place responsibility will be of Chief Engineer PDD, he said. Naresh Sharma, a social activist, also requested the PDD to take urgent action. |
