| GDC Chenani organizes webinar on 'Common Barriers in Effective English Communication' | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 15: Government Degree College, Chenani organized a webinar on 'Common Barriers in Effective English Communication' under the aegis of its Language Club, AKAM Cell and IQAC. The event was organized to strengthen the communication skills of the students. Dr. Chetna Gupta, Assistant Professor in English, Government Degree College Kathua, acted as the key resource person in the event.
During her address she deliberated at length on various barriers and distortions in communication processes. She emphasized upon the physical, cultural, linguistic, personal, gender and semantic barriers in communication and suggested the ways that help handling the process. She considered the receiver in the process of communication as the ultimate and stressed upon the role of perception, active listening and cooperation to get tuned together with the communicator.
Principal of the College, Dr. Pragya Khanna, welcomed the resource person and highlighted the theme of the webinar. She opined that such events are of great help for the student community in developing their communication skills. In her address she stated that communication is a two-way traffic where the sender and receiver both play an important role. She stressed the use of heart, mind and soul in the communication process for effective results. |
