Vehicle lifters' gang busted in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a gang of vehicle lifters with the arrest of four persons and recovered stolen vehicles during raids at various places. Police said that Police station Budgam on February 9, 2022 received information about a group of car thieves operating in Central Kashmir's Budgam district who are stealing vehicles from various parts of the Union Territory. They said, the modus operandi of the gang was car theft and changing their registration numbers and even sometimes the body colour and preparing fake and forged documents to sell them on cheaper rates. During the course of investigation, police party of police station Budgam raided various places in the district and recovered nine stolen cars and two motorcycles, police said, and added four persons identified as Ajaz Ahmed Mandoo resident of Rawalpora, Irshad Ahmed Bhat resident of Bugroo Khansahib, Firdous Ahmed Beigh and Reyaz Ahmad both residents of Nasrullapora Budgam. The involvement of three more persons has been established who are evading arrest, they said. |
