Sangam Govt school functions from shopping complex | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, Mar 8: The Government Primary School Sangam functioning from a shopping complex contradicts the claims of the Education Department that children are being provided with all the facilities so that they can be equipped to face the world. One has to climb narrow stairs that have no support to reach on the first floor of the shopping complex where children are seen studying in dingy rooms. “We want better facilities. Our teachers work hard to make us learn but we have no play ground or any other place to sit and relax. Our school building is close to the highway. We can't even move out of our classes after we enter,” said a minor student. “Claims of the government that everything is being done to provide all the facilities to children and education sector is a priority are confined to papers only. The government school functioning from a shopping complex is a glaring instance of how much focus is being laid on education,” said a resident. |
