Dream of settling in Kashmir-still a dream, mobile does not ring: Shiv Sena | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 12: Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir unit has asked the central government to restore statehood to Jammu & Kashmir and raised concern over the intentions of BJP led government at the Centre with regard to the present situation in the state. Led by Manish Sahni, UT President, the Shiv Sena activists raised slogans against the central government, terming the current situation in Jammu & Kashmir as half-baked and hanging union territory. Talking to reporters, Sahni said that despite a long-gap of 27 months since the abrogation of Article 370 and the reorganization of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the democratic process has not been restored in Jammu and Kashmir while the return of Kashmiri Pandits has not seems possible. Sahni said the claim of foreign investment worth thousands of crores in Jammu & Kashmir has also started slowing down as the public has got only disappointment regarding development and employment. He said that thousands of daily wagers are being forced to adopt the path of agitation seeking minimum wages at par with other states and union territories of the country. He mentioned that inflation is at its peak as compared to other states. "Even today, instead of union territory tax (UTGST), state tax (SGST) is being collected from the people of Jammu & Kashmir. The BJP government at the Centre has misled the people of the state and the country regarding Jammu and Kashmir. To buy land in Jammu & Kashmir is possible only through the state subject and Domicile-A made in its lien. Like before, prepaid SIM cards of other states get stopped as soon as they enter the border of Jammu & Kashmir due to which devotees and tourists, traders and migrant workers coming from other states facing huge hardships," he said. |
