| Principal GDC Bijbehara blames PDD for negligent death of student; demands fair probe | | |  Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Mar 25: Principal Government Degree College (GDC) Bijbehara, Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat has blamed the Power Development Department (PDD) for the negligent death caused to a student of the college on Wednesday.
Talking to Early Times, the Principal GDC Bijbehara said that PDD was paid Rs. 1.38 lakhs for shifting the high tension (HT) line that was going over the playground of the college. He said the PDD shifted the HT line but placed it just outside the boundary wall of the college.
The Principal said that since PDD consists of engineers it was the duty of the department to find a safe place where the HT lines could be shifted.
He said the staff and students of the college were not aware about the dangers associated with the HT line that is placed just outside the boundary wall of the college. He demanded a fair probe in the matter and said that the responsibility needs to be fixed. |
