CP workers up in arms against admin;Demand release of pending salary, implementation of minimum wages Act | | | S K KAW Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 25:All Jammu and Kashmir Contingent Paid Cook employees staged a massive protest demonstration for release of pending salary and implementation of Minimum Wages Act at Srinagar today. The CP workers were raising slogans against the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration for its callous approach towards them who since a long time were demanding implementation of Minimum Wages Act besides release of their pending salary. Addressing media persons during the protest, All J&K Contingent paid cook employees JKUT president Abdul Ghani Malik said that we have been working on a paltry anount of Rs 500 to Rs 1000 per month but since 2017 this too has not been paid to us inspite we were told that we will be paid a monthly salary @ Rs 225 per day. He said we also had demanded 50% reservation quota in Class IV jobs under SRO 308 in which maximum posts have been freezed,we appeal to J&K admin to defreeze those posts at an earliest, Malik added. Malik hailed the role of media for highlightimg their problems of poor employees at the relevant foras.He said we have served an ultimatum to government for meting out our all demands by the April 2, failing which we will be left with no option other than to come on the roads ,he added. |
