| Students of Girls Higher Secondary School, Bijbehara at risk as PDD places HT line on decayed pole | | |

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: The Power Development Department (PDD) seems to have learnt no lesson from the tragedy of Government Degree College, Bijbehara since it has placed a high tension (HT) line just adjacent to the Girls Higher Secondary School, Bijbehara.
The presence of the HT line near the tin roof of the Higher Secondary School is posing risk to the lives of the school girls. The HT line has been placed over a decayed pole and the same can cave in at any point of time. The school authorities had appealed the PDD to shift the pole to some far off place but the request has not acceded up to this point of time. The girls receiving education at the school have urged the PDD authorities to expedite the shifting of pole so that precious lives are not put to risk. It would be in place to mention here that a student of GDC Bijbehara died few days back after he came into contact with a live wire just adjacent to the college premises. |
