The sources said the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs in particular, are “upset the way the situation is taking ugly turn” in the valley. Sources said some top functionaries have held telephonic deliberations with the Raj Bhawan to discuss the evolving situation. Sources said at least two “very important calls” from New Delhi were received by the Raj Bhawan in this regard. The sources in New Delhi said Lieutenant Governor was likely to be “summoned” to the national capital for direct deliberations on the “unfolding situation” in the coming days. “There has been no dearth of resources (from New Delhi), so why are things taking such a turn needs to be looked into?” said a source privy to the corridors of power in New Delhi. There has been deadly spike in the attacks. On April 4, a CRPF jawan was killed and his colleague wounded when militants attacked them in Maisuma area in the heart of Srinagar. Interestingly, ahead of their arrival of the UAE delegation and on the day Union Home Minister Amir Shah had chaired a security meeting in Jammu before leaving back for the national capital. The same fateful evening three militancy related incidents were reported from across Kashmir of March 19. Three CRPF men and a non- local labourer were injured in three militancy related incidents across Kashmir. While a non-local carpenter identified as Muhammad Akram son of Ab Salam resident of Bijnor UP was fired upon at Arihal Pulwama, a CRPF Jawan was injured when terror groups lobbed a grenade on CRPF camp of 178Bn. In another incident, militants lobbed a grenade on CRPF camp of 180Bn at Nowdal Tral in which two CRPF personnel received splinter injuries. The Raj Bhawan while “Strongly condemning such dastardly terror attacks” has been assuring of befitting reply. “Our security forces will give a befitting reply to perpetrators of despicable attacks.” |
