MJR-47 submits memorandum to Delimitation Commission for allocation of assembly seats for POJK DPs | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 5: MGR-47 (Movement for Justice for POJK Refugees of 1947) has submitted a memorandum to the Delimitation Commission seeking 24 seats for POJK DPs in terms of Section 14 (4) (a) and section 60 of JK Reorganization Act, 2019 which provides that 107/114 should be the total strength of assembly seats when till date 24 seats were wrongly deducted. Suchwant Singh Chief Spokesperson MJR-47 impressed upon the Commission that allocation of 24 seats falls within the purview of Delimitation Commission as per the Act. He highlighted the irony of the earlier govt by de-freezing one POJK seat for Mendhar where no POJK DPs reside and if at all the same was to be defreeze the same would have been de-freezed in favour of POJK DPs. He further contended that the political representation is provided to women to accommodate one class of gender so that their issues are not ignored and then how both genders of one class with such majority is being ignored for the last 74 years. He said that this is first and last opportunity to the class of people which have faced multi-fold worst turmoil than Kashmiri Pandits and still fought the Pak army to defend the state |
