“Transforming” J&K-a biggest mockery; adopting of e-office another big fraud
4/10/2022 11:57:27 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 10: On Sunday Jammu and Kashmir government issued a lengthy handout to claim that the Union Territory has transformed due to the adoption of the e-office but on the ground, it is another fraud like other schemes of the present dispensation.
Unlike other parts of the country where the government has adopted a virtual mode to minimize corruption, e-governance is still a distant dream.
For cheap publicity, it has been claimed that a paperless system has been adopted to ensure responsive and effective governance but in reality, it is another fraud. Not even a single government has completely adopted a paperless system.
It was claimed that people can seek direct redressal of their grievances through the JK grievance portal. But the reality is that most of the babus are not available to the common masses.
What to say to remain present in their offices, babus usually remain outside J&K for most of the time and there is no response from their respective offices to address the grievances of the people.
Even the elected representatives of the people have to struggle a hard to get an appointment to meet the babus who virtually control the whole UT. A coterie of babus is running the show while other bureaucrats are powerless.
On Sunday, the government claimed that an ‘Online Departmental Vigilance Officers Portal’ has been developed as a communication channel between Anti-Corruption Bureau and Departmental Vigilance Officers posted in different departments and districts. The other measures of this system include an Electronic Vigilance Clearance System for furnishing vigilance clearances through electronic or online mode of all the government employees.
These portals have been created but big sharks are still enjoying important positions and only lower-level officials are being sacrificial goats to mislead the Union Government.
