Jammu unhappy with Delimitation's final report, Kashmir disappointed: Shiv Sena
Public better judge, give appropriate answer to all ruckus: Sahni
5/6/2022 10:27:54 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 6: Expressing great disappointment over the final report of the Delimitation Commission, Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit leaders said that Jammu was once again deprived of adequate representation, while this time the people of Kashmir are also unhappy.
Addressing media persons at the Party's state office today, state chief Manish Sahni said that the Jammu division was entitled to 50 seats in the state assembly, but the process of snatching its rights from Jammu has been continued unabated. Instead of following the principles of population, the commission gave importance to principles that benefited the BJP and seats were decided arbitrarily, he said.
"In the same 90 seats, only 9 seats were not given adequate representation to Scheduled Tribes Castes and Kashmiri Pandits and PoK as per their demands," Sahni said, adding that eight seats should be reserved for POJK and five for displaced Kashmiri Hindus. Sahni said that all the hopes and promises of the captives on 5th August 2019 are proving to be hollow.
Sahni said that multiple delegations met the Delimitation Commission during its Jammu and Kashmir visit putting up their objections and suggestions before it but the Commission did not bother to accord due consideration to them and instead it prepared the report as per the directions and convenience of Jammu and Kashmir BJP leaders.
Sahni asserted that none of the BJP's tactics is going to be successful now. Along with Kashmir, the people of Jammu division are also eagerly waiting to teach them a lesson. He said when the delimitation process started, it was expected that the "historic mistake" committed in Jammu would be rectified. Despite the increase in area and population as compared to Kashmir, 43 seats have been fixed in Jammu division and 47 seats in Kashmir.
Sahni said that BJP has taken people of Jammu and Kashmir for granted and for this, the people would reply BJP in the forthcoming Assembly elections. He asked BJP to get ready to face the brunt of common masses who suffering remains the same after giving massive mandate to BJP in 2014 Assembly elections as well as 2019 Parliamentary elections.
