Bad conditions of roads in Poonch irks masses

POONCH, May 6: Under the so-called good governance of UT administration of Jammu and Kashmir, Poonch people deprived of shambles conditions of roads in Poonch district. According to the sources from Mendhar, Surankote, Poonch and Mandi Sub Divisions of Poonch district, most of the road are in dilapidated conditions and department has allegedly withdraw whole amount during March. Locals from different areas have informed our correspondent that the conditions of all the roads in different areas are in worst conditions and how engineers are issuing NOCs and release payments?. "Most of the contractors have either joined the ruling political party of have some links with ruling political party and administration is not taking action against such contractors" locals have said. Ashutosh, Javid Reshi, Mukhtar Hussain, Maroof Ahmed, Mohd Sharief and many others have said that administration is failed to take action against influential contractors which cause the worst condition of the roads. Reportedly, many engineers of Public Works (R&B) Department and PMGSY have changed changed their departments after scams. Where are agencies? locals also questioned. They have appealed to CBI, ACB and vigilance organization to check the roads of the Sub Divisions of Mandi, Poonch, Mendhar and Surankote and check the property of all engineers and book guilty engineers. RTI activists have informed our correspondent that department instead of providing information under RTI act start to harras the activists. They have appealed to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene into the matter and take action against guilty officers.
