People rue over poor condition of drain not completed even after 6 years

KISHTWAR, May 6: The people passing through ever busy Wasser road, a part of Kishtwar-Padder state Highway road rued the poor drainage system in the area as a result of which the road got waterlogged since the drain water spills on road causing not only inconvenience to the daily commuters, but also the people living in both side of the road.
Speaking to Early Times, the locals said that much hyped Swachh Bharat Abhiyan failed in the area added that construction of drainage fail to complete even after 6 years since it was taken up by the government.
"Look at the drainage system in Wasser (Lachkhazana) Kishtwar- the area which is just about 100-150 meter away from office complex of District Development Commissioner Kishtwar" said Shravan Badyal added that failure of Swachh Bharat Mission/ Clean India Mission in Kishtwar causes inconvenience to the people due to Poor drainage system, especially as a result of open drains, cause water logging problems on majority area of the roads in these urban areas of District Kishtwar.
Residents of Wasser, Kuleed, Zellna, Hullar, Pohie shows strong resentment against the failure of the Government to construct a proper drainage system in the area due to which entire drainage water of CRPF camp, PDC colony entered into their houses. "Children, elderly and students have to face a lot of difficulty in going to school & some other works" said the locals added that even after they held protest several times, district administration fail to act even though senior officials of the administration passes from these roads on daily bases.
The people urged upon the LG administration as well as local administration to look into the matter before the local public of the area were forced to hit the roads again.
