Early Times Report

Poonch, May 19: Although government has framed 'Child Labour Act' to protect the lives of children from tough works, but where these acts are implemented no one knows. Teachers are commonly known as nation builder and tutor of such Acts, and laws, but now a days these teaches are openly violating the 'Child Labour Act' and openly forcing school going children of 9-10 years to ports material including Gas cylinder, Rice bags and other goods released for Mid Day Meal in government schools. According to the sources, "Teachers posted in Primary School Lapara in education zone Surankote are taking whole work from their students". Parents of the children informed Early Times that their teenager school going boys are porting Gas cylinder, Water buckets, Rice bags and other materials for school and they are even not allowed to attend their class properly. They further said that they have put this matter before teachers of hnr school, they are saying that department is not issuing any funds to carry these materials so that they are taking work from children. It is pertinent to mention that all is not well in education zone Surankote, many such incidents like absent of teachers, carelessness of staff and other have come on notice but where is ZEO Surankote?. Locals have appealed to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Director School Education Jammu to investigate the matter and take strict necessary action against such anti children teachers. Deputy Commissioner Poonch in this regard has said that he will seek report from concern department first then will take any action.
